It looks like Hewlett-Packard is working on a display calibration/profiling solution. I have to admit I’m pretty impressed by their attitude to our 2% or the market 
We were really missing a DDC/CI capable tool that could talk to displays with internal LUT. Now we seem to have it, and judging by documentation the tool is easily extensible (plug-in arch is implemented) to cover more measurement tools and displays.
