GSoC2008 — deadline extended

As you may already know, deadline for Google Summer of Code applications submission was extended today till April, 7.

Though this year I’m primary admin for hugin/panotools, I’m neglecting my organization for a second :) and asking to pay more attention to OpenIcc and GNOME, in particular to project ideas bringing color management to a desktop level.

Currently we have most of the bricks in place to build upon: xicc, oyranos, LittleCMS… We just need people who are passionate enough to make both desktop an easy to use platform for photographers, designers and prepress people.

Last Gentle reMinder :)

This year we are having four days of total madness called Libre Graphics Meeting. If you care you have a look at the schedule, you’ll see that every single talk is very much worth being in Wrocław, Poland, from 8th to 11th, May.

There are some nice outcomes of last year’s LGM like Lensfun project and this year’s conference isn’t going to be an exception.

This is also a great chance for Google Summer of Code 2008 students to meet their mentors, in case they go for projects like Cairo, Inkscape, Scribus, GIMP, Krita, hugin/panotools or OpenICC.

So make sure you have tickets and a hotel room reserved for that time ;-)
