First stable version of UniConvertor is out. You can grab both source code and binary builds (go to http://mirror.yandex.ru/fedora/tigro/ for Fedora 7/8 packages).
UniConvertor (UC) is based on code from sK1 which is a fork of Sketch/Skencil. Backport of changes from sK1 to Skencil was at one time considered by Skencil’s developers, but that hasn’t really happened (at least yet).
UC can be used in other applications. For instance, SVN version of Inkscape can open CDR files (curves, flat fill’n'stroke, no text yet) using UC.
Next versions of UC will feature EMF import (the code already exists and works), probably VSD import (check vsdviewer) and, maybe, Freehand import (code to load raster previews already exists too). You can actually hire the team to create an importer for you, especially if you deal with some exotic file format
